Abstract
The essay reconstructs Monica Vitti’s television career and the process of shaping her television character in dialogue (and contrast) with the cinema ones. The article aims to scrutinize Vitti’s parabola on this medium and identify the main stages through which her path to canonization unfolds, by analyzing files and videos preserved in the Rai Teche and reading articles devoted to the actress and her television appearances in Radiocorriere TV and Corriere della Sera
