Abstract

The article focuses on the form of the literary review in Carlo Emilio Gadda. In particular, it analyses three texts published in 1945 in the periodical «Il Mondo» (1945-1946, directed by Alessandro Bonsanti) and later included in Gadda’s collection of essays I viaggi la morte (1958): Il mondo di ieri, Anime e schemi, and «Agostino» di Alberto Moravia. By examining these texts and putting them in relation with the literary field in which Gadda was working, the article shows how Gadda uses the form of the literary review to build his own authorship, as well as to reflect on issues of narrative interest which are fundamental for his own poetics.
