Abstract

Otherness is a term involved with «other», but also with «alteration». Madness is an alteration of the common sense, and, at the same time, a possibility of the human existence. It remains as an unsolved problem of the scientific knowledge. The mainstream psychiatry has lost the occasion to dialogue with the madness, and with the madness capacity to «alterate» the existence toward new worlds. The Author explores a single case of paranoia, in wich the comprehensive psychopathology plays a crucial role, in the care, between freedom and destiny. This is a difficult work, not always possible, based on hermeneutics applied to the clinical method. Phenomenology and Psychoanalysis seek this way. The contemporary reductionism is embalmed in the neurochemical stabilization. Within its «unexplicability» madness is an essentiall part of the ourself «otherness».
