Abstract

This paper aims to demonstrate Ludwig Wittgenstein’s present-day relevance in various areas of public and private life and to bring his cultural legacy to the general public. Particular attention is given to the activities of the Austrian institutions like “Wittgenstein Initiative, Wienµ and “Brenner Archiv, Innsbruckµ, aimed at promoting a deep knowledge of Wittgenstein’s life and emphasizing the quintessentially Austrian background of his work. Brian McGuinness’ cooperation in the publication of Wittgenstein’s complete correspondence, included family letters, is highlighted in detail
