Abstract

The paper illustrates the group psychotherapy work carried out with mothers of pediatric oncology patients received in March 2022 from Ukraine at the Pediatric Oncology Division of the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital in Turin. The group became «a place and time» in which the complex emotional experiences of the women who took part could find a new possibility of expression and containment. This therapeutic tool allowed a «crossing» of anxieties, loneliness and guilt to arrive at access to meaningful insights into what it means to maintain the parental function in a context, internal and external, poly-traumatic.
