Abstract

The essay analyses an extensive unpublished correspondence between Salvatore di Giacomo and Giovanni Laterza dating from 1902-1924. The main section of the correspondence concerns the work of editing and composing the collection of novellas Nella vita, which appeared in the series “Opere varieµ in 1903. The collection, proposed by Benedetto Croce, is part of a series of early 20th Century volumes that attest to the publisher’s initial interest in fiction publications
