Abstract

In 1883 de Rossi published a group of epigraphic fragments found in the previous century in the domains of the Monks of St. Paul, on the site of the ancient municipium of Capena. The scholar attributed them to a unitary epigraphic complex recognizing the remains of the fasti ludorum of the Capenates. Owing to the lacunose nature of the fragments, these were reconsidered as a whole, with a series of corrections and comments regarding to the reading of de Rossi, only by Bormann in CIL XI. On the basis of the discovery and identification of some further fragments attributable to this epigraphic complex, the new edition is presented together with a review of the texts already published, with some corrections and new reading proposals, and a study of epigraphic and historical context of the complex as a whole
