Abstract

This contribution aims to make known several roman inscriptions found and preserved in the territory of Colonna (Rome), that was the site were a big part of the ancient city of Labici stood. This territory was once part of the ager Labicanus. The inscriptions studied are mainly funerary and are now preserved in private properties (rarely they are kept in the warehouses of the local superintendency), that’s why they are in danger of disappearence (which has already happened to several epigraphs know in the past and know untraceable). Interesting prosopographic data emerge from their study, documenting the frequentation of the ager Labicanus by subjects of mostly libertine extraction and of Greek origin.
