Abstract

«Creativity» is gaining room in the debate about the engine of economic development, despite mainstream science’s disregard of its inner process, given empirical undetectability. This contradictory condition lies inherent in the divide between reason and the «analogue of reason» that occurred at the dawn of modernity, and consigned creativity to the latter. The paper maintains that (a) getting out of such an incongruous condition requires that science seizes on the second aesthetic turn’s suggestions for blurring that divide, and (b) regional science can be a herald of that endeavor, thanks to the constitutive role that space plays in praxis and, specifically, creativity.
