Abstract

The aim of this article is to highlight the specific role, functions and activities of social work in the context of emergencies, proposing a synthesis of the main theoretical concepts useful to guide practice. In particular, this paper shows how interventions carried out in emergency services in cases of personal crisis and social work practice in the context of disasters can be oriented by similar theoretical and methodological assumptions, useful to overcome a residual approach to interventions in case of emergency.
