A look at the complex «earthquake problem» afflicting the peninsula, the reasons for an underestimation of risk, and for an evident prevention deficit, to understand its origins and causes. A check finally on the effectiveness of what is being done today to make at least «acceptable» the consequences of earthquakes to come
