Abstract

The Author analyzes critically the most recent Italian legislation as regards the s.c. "Exausting careers". Particularly he questions himself about the ratio of the rule which takes into consideration, albeit indirectly, the minor life expectancy at the moment of retirement of the worker who has been assigned to such jobs. Taking inspiration from recent studies which connect in general life expectancy to socio-professional categories, he proposes the idea of distinguishing entitlement requirements for retirement benefits for all workers according to the characteristics of each one's job. The essay evaluates the consequences and the legal compatibility of such a modification of the Italian pension system.
