Abstract

The author traces the essential theoretical lines of the modern social State. Equality is identified as the leading value and solidarity as the implementing principle. In the light of value and principle and paying attention to “universalismµ, actual and potential, some main features of social and labour legislation are briefly examined. Some final considerations are devoted to the pandemic and the Ukraine war and the present uncertainty of sociality. A ten numbers reading list is added
