Abstract

Electrification in rural space is a fundamental aspect for the sustainable development and well-being of local communities, as a response to the so-called energy trilemma. The issue of clean electrification among the others assumes a peculiar value connected to the ability of territories in accepting prosuming technologies, an aspect which claims the promotion of empowerment processes at the local level. In this sense, newly introduced institutes such as of the Green Community (gc) and the Renewable Energy Community (rec), sound promising in offering a prospect of active involvement of local communities in the production and the use of green energy to the benefit of the well-being of the local society. Maintaining a strict qualitative approach, this contribution wants to introduce potential advantages and limits of the green electrification of final energy consumption, suggesting new lines of research to be pursued in the future
