Abstract

Is it still possible to think philosophically about politics? And what politics? The author advocates an 'old-fashioned' image of politics, which is conceived as an activity performed by free and equal individuals, consisting in deliberating about the vital questions of the community. An activity characterized by vision and by the seriousness of its consequences. Reflection on this kind of activity takes the form of examining political concepts and ways of attending to political arrangements as well as prescribing a vision of order that should be matched in reality through political activity.
