Abstract

The article traces the historical-institutional evolution of the right of asylum in Italy, from the Second World War to 1990. Starting from the political-institutional framework for the protection of refugees in the immediate post-conflict phase, up to the end of the Eighties, the critical aspects of the national governance of the phenomenon are addressed, in particular in relation to a peculiar approach aimed at «delegating» the management of the phenomenon to international organizations.
