Abstract

Present-day challenges, including global warming and its consequences, lead us to ponder on human history that stretches back 160,000 years. During this time humans have both migrated and led sedentary lives. There have been confrontations, clashes and exchanges of ideas. Only the acquisition of a shared planetary awareness can prevent humans from plunging towards destructive conflicts.
