Abstract

The «Reddito di cittadinanza» (RdC) might potentially represent an important shift in the history of the Italian social assistance, that is traditionally very categorical. At the present stage, although two years have passed from its introduction, the RdC regulatory framework seems to be not strict enough either to clarify the order of the policy priority or to guarantee a homogeneous implementation in the whole country. The aim of this this article is to assess whether the path dependency might bind the RdC implementation, decreasing its innovative impact to fight poverty and to enable the activation of poor household
