Abstract

The topic of secret knowledge, hidden and available only to a few chosen ones, crosses the centuries, and has therefore changed many times. In three historical examples, taken from the Renaissance, from the spiritism of the end of the nineteenth century and from the culture of the sects of the German pre-Nazi right wing, arise the transformations of the topic involved in each age with different themes: witchcraft, the hidden powers of the self, the conspiracy.
