Abstract

Only by re-reading Alessandro Baratta's work, and by celebrating them, can we make them re-live in our current situation. This paper is a personal celebration of a book published by Baratta in 1982: "Criminologia critica e critica del diritto penale", a book which, while in the past challenged many received ideas in the areas of criminal justice and criminology, in today's silence it sounds like a thunderstorm. Re-reading that text, we set off for a journey, we re-visit concepts and participate in a process of knowledge transmission which reactivates the notions expressed there and mobilizes the subjectivity of those who read it.
