Abstract

This paper examines the different forms of "damnatio memoriae" suffered by "mali principes" during the first century AD. The aim is to demonstrate that Caligula and Nero did not suffer an official "damnatio memoriae", while Domitian was the first emperor to be condemned "post mortem" by the senate.
