Abstract

The essay traces the history of a relationship which resulted both in personal and professional growth and development: Claudio Pavone is here described for his great teaching abilities and for his deep openness to dialogue and exchange. Always ready to support his students with advice, Claudio Pavone demonstrated a genuine interest in the topics of their research, inviting them to continuously look at history in a multidisciplinary, complex and broad minded way. He has been a great example of true moral ethic, great civil committment, always demonstrating constant rigour in his research and in the richness of his analysis.
