Abstract
This paper – starting from the role and the relevance of time in the Sophoclean tragedies from a lexical, semantic, conceptual and dramaturgical point of view – aims to propose some linguistic and dramaturgical considerations concerning the occurrences of μακραιων in Sophocles’ extant tragedies (also taking into account the ‘conceptual history’ of αιων)
