Abstract

The study aims to analyze the threshold-places used by Anna Maria Ortese in her neapolitan stories. Just as for Borges in the short story Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius, the discovery of Uqbar city takes place thanks to a mirror and an encyclopedia, in the same way alienating elements in Ortesian places grow out of the thresholds that characters cross, observe or describe. We will therefore try to draw a different map of the city in Il mare non bagna Napoli.
