Abstract

This essay talks about some literary works on Rome from 1950 to the present. The beginning is the age of the «sweet life» of Rome and especially of via Veneto, with the movie by Federico Fellini and the short stories and novels by Luigi Malerba, Ennio Flaiano, Ercole Patti, Sandro De Feo. In these years literature, press and cinema meet together mainly in the streets and café. In the following decades other writers (Edoardo Albinati, Ugo Cornia, Vittorio Giacopini) have described Rome through maps and streets, less glamorous than via Veneto and often on the neglect of the town, the hard and dark features.
