Abstract

The paper develops an intense and incisive remembrance of Franca Angelini, combining eloquent elements of her private life and her intellectual biography. What emerges from this is the dominant theatrical dimension, a passion that has guided not only her activities as a scholar and a cultural organizer, but also her daily life: from the thesis on Ruzante to the ceremony reserved for professors emeriti of Sapienza, where, in recognition of the innovative nature of her studies (synthesis of dualism between text and performance) the chair of theatrical literature was instituted for her; also her relationship with actors and directors to the management of the magazine "Ariel" and the "Institute of Studies on Pirandello and Contemporary Theatre".
