Abstract

Among the concepts developed by Auguste Comte, «sociocracy» is the most obscure. It's known that it encompasses the political meaning of an extensive research. Less obvious is that it is a concept developed in the long run, so much so that it passes through all the seasons of his philosophical production. The article will give an account of its various formulations in summary form. More attention will be paid to the nature of the «sociocratical» organization, based on the separation and collaboration between temporal and spiritual powers: a chilling model in many respects, whose traits often turn to utopia; but it is not devoid of ideas that require to be reconsidered in the light of the contemporary debate.
