Abstract

The relationship between Pico and Cusanus has been investigated since the Thirties and Forties, thanks to the contributions of Eugenio Garin and Ernst Cassirer. The goal of this paper is to provide a review of research on the subject up until the most recent essays. In particular, the following studies will be discussed: that of Garin, published in 1960, which considerably limits the presence of Cusanus’s ideas in 15th -century Italian culture; that of Kurt Flash, published in 2002, which detects Cusanus’s influence on some Conclusiones. Much attention will be devoted to Giovanna Murano’s palaeographical studies. Lastly, five issues to be examined will be suggested, in order to outline new research perspectives.
