Abstract

This article is about the importance of Philosophy for individual learning and education. Philosophy provides tools to look at the world in a new way; it encourages the development of skills to promote the critical use of reason and to engage with other disciplines addressing issues related to human life. The philosopher Nussbaum shows in her work how Philosophy can be useful for humanity and what cultural contribution it provides, allowing people to discuss global issues through research work and intercultural dialogue, by engaging with one another on the basis of mutual respect and understanding.
