Abstract

The thesis supported by this article is that without philology there is no good philosophy, but that philology without philosophy does not interest philosophy specialists. To illustrate this thesis, the author draws on some of his works on Aristotle. Finally he presents his new translation of Aristotle's "Metaphysics" as an expression of the synthesis between philosophy and philology.
