Abstract

Valerio Lundini has rapidly become one of the most influential comedians in Italy. His success, and that of co-presenter Emanuela Fanelli, was definitively consolidated thanks to the program Una pezza di Lundini, a late evening broadcast on Rai 2, on air since 2020. This paper aims, on the one hand, to trace the television genealogy underlying the type of comic phenomenon represented by Lundini, and on the other hand to classify his programme as an example of a post-television product, that is specifically designed to be transmedial, while simultaneously remaining rooted in a long-running tradition and connected to comic mechanisms from the internet
