Abstract

In the 2017 speech on the State of the Union, the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Junker declared that it is the will of the European institutions to foster the process for the admission of the Western Balkans to the EU. This paper deals with the effects that the perspective of European integration can produce on the constitutional transitions in this region, focusing on some problematic issues concerning minority rights and European conditionality in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
