Abstract

Despite the persevering development of significance in Gender Studies which characterize academic research in our Country, the backwardness of the condition of Italian women, who seem unable to keep pace with American and European achievements in this field, is fully denoted by many authors. Considering the opposition between essentialism and social constructionism and respecting the psychological and cultural perspective, the article addresses the problem to indicate some factors which may be responsible in determining the disorientation characterizing the current Italian situation
