Abstract

This study aims to highlight the relations between perceived support, positive self image and risk behaviours in a sample of young adults (aged 18-27). 109 males and 224 females completed a questionnaire assessing support from different providers (mother, father and friends), positive self image and risk behaviours. The influence of relational(different support providers) and individual (positive self image) factors on risk behaviours was tested through a path analysis. Results show that some paths of the model differ due to young adults gender.
