Abstract

The paper examines the relationship between the works of Pietro Aretino and Luigi Pulci's "Morgante", focusing on the cultural meaning of the appraisal of Morgante's topics by Aretino. This experience is put in the context of the reception of the "Orlando furioso" in the sixteenth century and of the reception of chivalric poems in sixhteenth-century Italian literature, after Ariosto.
