Abstract

The various episodes of Bolshevik Revolution were widely represented in pictures. Starting from the analysis of the iconographies contained in a large variety of sources (i.e. history textbook, postcards, stamps, coins etc.) this article aims to investigate what images of revolution were imposed on Soviets since the school years. Furthermore this text intends to show how the «official» history particularly stressed some revolutionary moments and specific actors (firstly Lenin and Stalin, but also Kerenskij, Dzeržinskij, Sverdlov, etc.) and how it occulted other parts and protagonists of the Bolshevik Revolution.
