Abstract

Starting from a comparative approach, the essay discusses the Catalanisms present in the 1960s and 1970s on both sides of the Pyrenees with the aim of carving out their affinities and differences. In this cross-border space, parallel and different pathways of evolution are experimented, but also proposals and projects of convergence that represent a good example of the creative and adaptive capacity of the national narrative. The chosen chronology offers the opportunity to observe these processes of national construction and representation in an particularly prolific, and in some ways even critical, period both in the north and the south Pyrenees.
