Abstract

This study is a comparison between the Italian version of WISC-IV(Wechsler-Intelligence-Scale for Children IV Ed.) and its previous edition WISC-III.Both instruments were administered to 20 subjects with Learning Specific Disabilities and/or Mental Retardation. The analysis of data showed that the WISC predicts the cognitive disability, but changes of the new version better identify the specificity of the disorder, with greater emphasis on the strengths and weaknesses and it makes sure to carry out a monitoring of the individual growth curves in response to rehabilitation.
