Abstract

The role of co-parenting and the attention to the child’s needs on how children cope with separation and divorce has been confirmed by countless studies. This contribution will focus on the child’s reality in association with his developmental stage from infancy to adolescence. Specifically, the paper will focus on the child’s ability to understand what is happening, his representations, his experiences, his emotions and affections. This approach will help parents to reflect on the child’s view of what is happening in his life and in his parents’ life.
