The frail character of youth policies: a European look

Abstract

Youth policies suffer from a complex and differentiated target on the one side, and from a weak structure in terms of resources and autonomy on the other side. Considering both the action of European Union in recent years and the persisting differentiation of regimes of youth transitions in relation to the national life-styles and welfare systems, the article points out some key aspects regarding the future development of youth policies.
