Abstract

Lazio's local welfare system is analyzed from the social workers' point of view, as operators directly involved in the implementation of local social policies on the one hand and in direct contact with the social needs on the other hand. Particularly, following elements have been analyzed: the coherence among social policies and social workers' functions and ethics; the efficiency of the system from the point of view of organization; the adequacy of network of social services to meet social needs in the area; the relationship between institutional actors and no-profit sector. A specific reflection on the social workers' role in local welfare system is also proposed.
