Abstract

In Italy the Covid-19 emergency has required rapid changes within the organizations of the welfare system and a redefinition of the commitment of the social work profession, which is now called upon to contribute to the post-pandemic «reconstruction» and to reflect on its own contribution to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr). Drawing from the process of the reconfiguration of professionalism, the article explores the specificities of social work and the importance of the social worker in the implementation of policies addressing the consequences of the pandemic. The results of a Piedmont-based explorative study are presented, which focus on the projects aimed at applying for Pnrr funding and the role played by social work in them
