Abstract

This article is aimed at representing a contribution toward the emergence of a collective debate on the current state of public service information in Italy, especially when it comes to political pluralism and «lottizzazione» (i.e. the Italian version of spoil system). In order to understand the present situation and the future challenges characterizing Italian public service information an historical account of how the system has emerged and has developed is required, also in order to isolate the most relevant problems to be addressed.
