Abstract

The paper analyses the principle of sustainable development and the implementation of its objectives in the context of the Italian Region of Sardinia. It examines the most recent actions undertaken in the regional context at the level of strategic programming, highlighting the links between regional programmes and plans and those drawn up at national and supranational level, highlighting the importance of a cross-cutting and multi-level approach. In order to better understand the importance of this principle, this paper also sets out some considerations regarding the division of competences between the State and the Region of Sardinia as a Region with a Special Statute, as well as a brief analysis of the principle of sustainable development as a constitutional principle, in particular in the light of the recent revision of Articles 9 and 41 of the Italian Constitution
