Abstract

The essay gives commentary on a satiric political prose written by the journalist and government employee Carlo Lorenzini, aka "Collodi". The research conducted using journals, documents and unpublished biographical data has disclosed that Collodi was pressed to write the masterpiece "The Adventures of Pinocchio: Story of a puppet" for a veto of the Ministry of the Interior, Nicotera, who did not tolerate satire in government policy. The employee Lorenzini interrupted, and then softened his satirical prose, and gave himself entirely to children's literature.
