Abstract

The author goes throughout the thought of Barassi, and takes into particular consideration the aspects of individualism, paternalism, the opposition to social legislation and the centrality of the civil code. After some methodological considerations, the author takes into analysis the relationship between autonomy and legislative intervention. Then, he describes the obsession of an universal definition of the labour contract as opposed to different possible contract typologies. In the last part of his essay, the Author tries to go beyond Barassi's thought.
