Abstract

The essay examines the Spanish approach to migration phenomena with regard to the numerous yet inconsistent regulatory interventions of the last decade. The author highlights how the assignment of citizenship rights to foreigner workers was enhanced just recently as several judgements of the Tribunal Constitucional called for a legislative reform of the Ley Organica in the immigration field. This reform project, on the other hand, introduces tighter limits to workers access, as it requires an actual instrumental connection with the Spanish labour market needs.
