Abstract
Bruno Trentin has been a leading figure in Italian trade unionism and at the same time a refined intellectual who developed a positive relationship with labour law scholarship. The portrait sketched by the author stresses his role both in leading the biggest Italian union and in proposing theoretical reflections on human labour, its story and its future.
