Abstract

The article argues that a general ban of the burqa in public places is against the principles of a liberal democratic society, and 'not possible ban on wearing the burqa in specific situations where it appears with his face could create real problems. A deconstruction of the notion of public space, identifying the different dimensions (common space, political, institutional), it is useful to identify these situations and encourage a pragmatic and not ideological debate about the burqa.
