Abstract

For centuries, women have been excluded from participation in the jurisdictional organization of the Church. Nowadays, the idea is taking hold providing for the laity – and, of course, women – to get involved in ecclesiastical jurisdictional task. This is a clear challenge that the Church must face. An important group of scholars holds this opinion, and the last Pontiffs – Pope Francis in particular – have expressed views along the same lines and have started to travel the path leading to this end.
